With
over 300 active members, Friday Musicale is continuing in its long
tradition of bringing the finest in classical music to the Jacksonville
scene. All activities of Friday Musicale are carried out by unpaid
volunteers dedicated to the goals and objectives of the organization.
Incorporated under
the laws of the State of Florida and designated as a 501 c (3) “not
for profit organization” under the
Federal Tax Code, concerts and other musically related programs are
funded by
member dues, charitable fund raising activities, private donations
and support from the Cultural
Council of Greater Jacksonville. Membership is open to the general
public without regard to sex, race or creed.

Musical programs include concerts by soloists,
small groups and the Friday Musicale Chorus. Additionally an active
youth program is conducted
annually. Open competitions are held and prizes and scholarships
are awarded to outstanding young artists. Other youth musical activities
in the
Greater Jacksonville area are supported to the extent that resources
allow.
The Friday
Musicale Auditorium is an outstanding state of the art facility
which accommodates 250 persons at its regular concerts.
Two Steinway grand pianos are available for concerts and competitions.
Admission
for concerts is free and off street parking is available at Friday
Musicale’s
private parking lots close to the auditorium. When no events are
scheduled,
the auditorium is available for private recitals, meetings, wedding
receptions and
other private events on a rental basis. |
